It's morning
The street lights are shutting down
I'm standing
Outside your door watching the dawn
I'm leaving
On a Jet Plane for somewhere I don't know
Cause this old town it's got me down
I feel I gotta go

It's raining
You know I can't flag down a cab
On a slippery city street if you fall…..
There's no one there to grab
So I'm leaving 
For another place…another space somewhere
Cause this old town it's got me down
I feel like I don't care

I want to get out of here while I'm young enough to live
This city has taken everything I got to give
Don't keep telling me you'll never get away
I'm already down the road I' leaving town today

It's evening
The streetlights are turning on
I'm standing at the window in my room
I'm all alone
